01-06-21
LIFE and SENS delivered the Stationspostgebouw in the HS Kwartier in The Hague on Monday 31 May to tenant PostNL and buyer Perial Asset Management. The imposing monumental building has been radically renovated in the past 18 months by construction consortium JP Van Eesteren - BESIX and installer Unica. From 1 July 2021, the Stationspostgebouw will offer long-term office space to tenants PostNL and StationPostOffices. Mathi Gijbels, partner of LIFE.NL and StationPostOffices, and together with Focus Real Estate developer of HS Kwartier, indicates that the completion of this high-quality project has made an important contribution to the realization of the HS Kwartier area development as an iconic area in the Randstad. The transformation of the Stationspostgebouw is the first phase of the HS Kwartier area development (www.hskwartier.com).
Urban work right next to Hollands Spoor station
The Stationspostgebouw was designed in 1939 by government architect G.C. Bremer and was transformed under the architecture of KCAP Architects & Planners into a state of the art head office with a size of approximately 25,000 m2 LFA. A place where people work, but above all can meet and inspire each other. Gert Jan Smit, partner SENS real estate, confirms:
“With this sustainable transformation, a beautiful listed building is given a new lease of life. Ten years after the Stationspostgebouw was exchanged for another office, PostNL is now home again." In addition to the PostNL head office, the StationPostOffices co-working concept is an important link for connection and meeting with customized office space, including meeting and flexible workstations.
